NOTICE OF RACE

0. PREFACE - The regatta simulator 32nd America's Cup ( The Game ) will be called "VSK5".

1.   RULES - The races will be governed by the rules as defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS) 2005-2008 including Appendix D – Team Racing Rules ( extract available here and here) and the Sailing Instructions.  In the event of a conflict between the Notice of Race and the Sailing Instructions, then the Sailing Instructions shall govern.  The official language of this event is English.

2.   CLASS – Boats will be VSK5 - RC44 custom class.

3.   TEAM - Each competing team shall consist of 3 skippers, with any number of reserves.  Reserve skippers do not have to be nominated prior to the event, however they may not swap teams after they have started a race for a team in this event.

4.   REGISTRATION – The registration deadline is midnight (GMT + 1), Saturday 23 February, 2008.  All entries are via the Registration forum in WTRC 2008 section at http://www.vskitalia.com .  Please note that registration is required at the website to enter the forum.  A minimum of two (2) skippers per team will be required to register and be the nominated contacts persons for the event. If there should be some free slots in Round Robin Groups, new entry teams are allowed along first racing week.

5.   SCHEDULE OF EVENTS
To ensure the event is concluded in a timely manner, the following timetable should be followed to complete races for each round.  Exact start times per race shall be agreed between teams, using the WTRC 2008 forum boards to organize and discuss.

7.   SAILING INSTRUCTIONS and OFFICIAL NOTICES – Sailing Instructions will be published ( as a link from WTRC 2008 home page  ) in VSKItalia .  The Sailing Instructions will be available no later than one (1) week prior to the start of the event.
 
8.   FORMAT - The intended format is an initial round robin to establish rankings, then progressive knock-out rounds to decide the final placings.   

9.   COURSES –  Links to the courses packs per round will be published ( as a link from WTRC 2008 home page  ) in VSKItalia download section.
 
10.   SCORING - In accordance with Appendix D, except as modified by the Sailing Instructions.

11.   PROTESTS -  Protests can be lodged to protests_wtrc08@vskitalia.com . Protest submission details can be found in the Sailing Instructions.

BANDO DI REGATA

0. PREMESSA - Il simulatore di regata 32ndAmerica's Cup (The Game ) sarà chiamato "VSK5".

1.   NORME - Le regate saranno disciplinate dalle regole definite nel regolamento di The Racing Sailing (RRS) 2005-2008 compresi Appendice D - Team Racing Rules ( estratto disponibile Qui and Qui) e le Istruzioni di Regata. In caso di conflitto tra il Bando di regata e le Istruzioni di Regata, saranno prese in considerazione le sole Istruzioni di Regata.La lingua ufficiale di questo evento è l'inglese.

2.   CLASS - Barche versione VSK5 – Classe custom RC44.

3.   TEAM - Ogni squadra è composta da 3 skipper, con un numero illimitato di riserve. Gli skipper di riserva non devono essere dichiarati prima della manifestazione, tuttavia essi non potranno cambiare di squadra dopo aver iniziato a gareggiare per uno specifico team di questo evento.

4.   REGISTRAZIONE – Il termine ultimo per l’iscrizione è la mezzanotte (GMT + 1) delSabato 23 Febbraio, 2008.  Tutte le richieste dovranno essere effettuate attraverso la registrazione al forum nella sezione dedicata al WTRC 2008 in http://www.vskitalia.com . E’ necessaria la registrazione al sito per accedere al forum. Sarà richiesta la registrazione di almeno due (2) componenti per team, per definire quali siano le persone del team di riferimento per l’evento. Se ci saranno posti liberi nei gironi dei Round Robin , solamente per la prima settimana dallo start , saranno permessi nuovi ingressi di nuovi teams.

5.   CALENDARIO EVENTI
Per garantire che l’evento si concluda in modo tempestivo ed entro i termini stabiliti, per il completamento di ogni fase dovrà essere seguito il seguente calendario.  La data e l’ora di svolgimento dell’incontro sarà concordato tra le due squadre, utilizzando il forum WTRC 2008.

7.   INSTRUZIONI DI REGATA e NOTE UFFICIALI – Le Istruzioni di Regata saranno pubblicate ( come un link in home page WTRC 2008 ) in VSKItalia .  Le Istruzioni di Regata saranno disponibili entro e non oltre ad una (1) settimana prima dell’inizio della manifestazione.
 
8.   FORMAT - Il format sarà un primo turno di round robin per stabilire le classifiche, poi ad eliminazione diretta che deciderà il round finale.

9.   MAPPE DI GARA –  Il links alle mappe per ogni turno verrà pubblicato ( ed inserito con link nella home page del WTRC 2008  ) nella sezione download di VSKItalia.
 
10.   PUNTEGGIO - In conformità con Appendice D, ad eccezione, delle modifiche contenute nelle Istruzioni di Regata.

11.   PROTESTE -  Le proteste possono essere presentate a protests_wtrc08@vskitalia.com . I dettagli per la presentazione delle proteste sono elencati nelle Sailing Instructions
